The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has reacted to the directive of President Muhamadu Buhari to all members of his cabinet seeking elective positions to resign, saying he is not in a hurry to resign his appointment.

Buhari, at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, had told his cabinet members who have political ambitions to resign before May 16, 2022.

Reacting, Ngige said that the President had asked those who need clarification on his pronouncement to meet with him privately.

“I have no reaction for now because the President said if anyone wants clarifications, the person should meet him.

“So I have to consult him and consult my constituents (Anambra State) because I am holding the office for the government and my constituents,” Ngige was quoted by Vanguard as saying.
