The Nigerian army has foiled a planned attack by bandits to invade a community in Zamfara State, the troops of the Joint Task Force Northwest, Operation Hadarin Daji, led the operation as they successfully cleared an ambush by the gunmen, killing many of them during the operation.
Similarly, the troops also thwarted a terrorist attack on Karazau village under Kwatarkwashi district of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, early Sunday morning.
A statement was issued on Sunday by the spokesperson of Operation Hadarin Daji, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, he explained that the troops received and swiftly responded to a distress call about the large numbers of armed terrorists attacking Karazau village in Kwatarkwashi district.
Furthermore, he noted that on arrival, the troops were ambushed by armed terrorists in the village.
He stated, “However, the combat ready troops who were resilient with tactical abilities and reinforcement, cleared the ambush and forced the bandits to retreat while several of them met their Waterloo.”
“Subsequently, the troops are dominating the general area with aggressive and confidence building patrols to deny the terrorists freedom of action,” he added.
