The Osun State House of Assembly has said it won’t allow the renaming of the State by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Adeleke, during his inaugural ceremony on Sunday, November 27, had reversed the name of the State from “State of Osun” to “Osun State” and also reversed its appellation from “The State of the Virtues” to “The State of the Living Spring”, which was adopted during the Rauf Aregbesola administration.
Reacting, the Osun Assembly in a statement signed Tuesday by Kunle Akande, the house committee chairman on media and publicity, said the state will continue to be referred to as ‘State of Osun’ as against ‘Osun State’.
