The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of an individual who was involved in a lone crash on Tuesday, along the Abeokuta-Sagamu highway, Ogun State.
Quest Times gathered that tragic incident occurred around Nestle Roundabout at about 9pm.
It was said that the accident involved a total of six persons in a Highlander SUV with number plate JJJ721JB.
Florence Okpe, the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, explained that the crash was as a result of tyre burst and speeding.
She stated, “A total of six persons were involved in a crash along Sagamu-Abeokuta Road, around Nestle Roundabout, at about 2100 hrs.”
“The six persons were all male adults; one was injured and unfortunately, one person died from the lone crash,” Okpe revealed.
Also, the spokesperson said that, “The suspected cause of the lone crash was tyre burst and speeding.”
“The injured victim was taken to Idera Hospital for medical attention and the corpse was taken away by the family members.”
In addition, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun, Anthony Uga, advised motorists to always apply caution when driving on the highway, urging them to stick to the speed limit. Also, he said they should carry out routine checks on their cars and replace any defects detected from the vehicle.
