Fire has gutted a gas plant along the Obirikwere bridge axis of the East West road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
It was learnt that the explosion caused panic in the area as residents and workers at various institutions within the area ran helter-skelter to keep safe.

Officials of the Federal Fire Service, arrived at the scene of the incident that occurred around 8am on Wednesday to put out the fire.
Daily Post reports that an official of the fire service noted that the fire was caused by a “leakage from a tank” in the gas station.

Meanwhile, the number of casualties are yet to be made known but eyewitnesses said at least three people may have been affected by the fire.
