The Nigeria Football Federation and Mr. Jose Santos Peseiro have reached an agreement for Peseiro to remain as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.
As per the original contract signed in May 2022, the Portuguese coach has been given the responsibility to lead the Super Eagles to at least the semi-finals of the 34th Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Cote d’Ivoire in the coming months.

Under Peseiro’s leadership, the Super Eagles successfully navigated the qualifiers and secured their spot with a match to spare. Notably, they achieved a remarkable 10-0 victory against Sao Tome and Principe in Agadir, Morocco, in June 2022.
In order to continue in his role, Peseiro has agreed to a reduced salary compared to his previous terms. Additionally, the new agreement extends his responsibilities to include coaching the Super Eagles B team, which consists of home-based professionals and competes in the biennial African Nations Championship.
