Arise TV presenter Rufai Oseni has caused a stir on Twitter following a post where he stated that certain entertainers and sports stars have done more for the image of Nigeria than any appointed Minister.
Rufai made the post in reaction to UFC star Israel Adesanya’s spectacular 2nd round knockout of Long time rival Alex Perreira.
He tweeted, “Israel Adesanya, Davido, Burna, Chimamanda, whizzy and other great Nigerians have done more for the image of Nigeria than any Minister I have ever known. The quality of people make a country!”
In light of Rufai’s tweet, several social media users reacted with diverse opinions.
Here are some gathered by The Quest Times:
@TemitopeOJT More than ministers, More than senators, More than some presidents, More than most governors, More than members of the House, Most of them give Nigerians bad and embarrassing names. These guys are the true patriots.
@ceebyk Nah our politicians Dey do us. See me loosing sleep just to see adesanya fight. I bet I love him more than lots of his tribe . Have you seen me talking him and usman kamaru.
@highlandre1 Nigerians are a great people. Our politicians are the enemies we must collectively fight. They’re the lazy, uncreative and selfish elements causing us pains, stain and anguish. Congrats to Israel Adesanya and Samuel Chukwueze. Nigerians are super proud of you!
@misturgage You forgot to add Rufai Oseni. You’re a good man; not perfect cos nobody is, but you’ve decided to stand for the truth come rain and shine.Nigeria will be better with more people like you. Blessings
@novieverest The ministers haven’t done a single thing for Nigeria. It is Nigeria that does for them.
@gagbashua Segun Aderiye, Hauwa Baba-Ahned, Cyril Stober, Modele Sharafa Yusuf, Akinloyè Oyebanji, Frank Olize, Ladi Akeredolu-Ale are journalists who have brought respect & prestige to the Journalism profession in my over 35+ years of conscious News TV, you are the worst I’ve seen! tueh!
@tokspro Fallacious argument. Individual awards or wins does not affect or improve our immediate economic prospects. Your commentary just panders to the emotional angle not factual in anyway. Ministers and politicians affects our life’s more either positively or negatively.
@OAyomidele Slot in Chimamanda as if we won’t notice. What has she done positively for Nigeria? All she does is to wish Nigeria badly, portray and talk about Nigeria in a bad light, she never wishes the country well or flies our flag high where it matters.
