Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri and other Nigerians have criticized Ekiti Chef Dammy for attempting to break Hilda Baci’s unofficial 100-hour cook-a-thon record.
Hilda Baci made headlines recently when she surpassed her initial goal of cooking for 88 hours and cooked for a total of 100 hours, setting a new record in the longest cooking category of the Guinness World Record.
However, just a month later, Chef Dammy has embarked on a similar endeavor and has already cooked for over 13 hours.
Ruth Kadiri expressed her disappointment in Chef Dammy, stating that she should have allowed Hilda Baci to bask in the glory of her achievement instead of trying to compete with her.
Kadiri also criticized the tendency of many Nigerians to follow trends rather than think for themselves.

@viccetti I just hope this Chef Dammy doesn’t cook for 120hrs in vain because she has already messed up by turning off the gas to pick beans. That doesn’t count cos you gotta keep the gas on in a cook-a-thon. Wasted effort will be very painful. I wouldn’t know wether to cry or laugh
@TheMahleek Chef Dammy una No off gas dey go house, dey whine yourself
@Solomon_Buchi Chef Dammy has done absolutely nothing wrong. GWR is literally a competition about setting and breaking records. Competitions are not emotional. The hate she’s getting is absolutely unnecessary. I support her, same way I supported Hilda. The narrative that she didn’t wait for Hilda’s result to be confirmed doesn’t fly because I don’t think that’s a requirement for GWR; if it is, then she should have waited. However, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with what she’s doing. It’s a competition, and we need to understand that life is bigger than people we like and support; others will try and might win too. It’s okay.
