A 20-year-old man has been arrested by operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command for allegedly stealing goats in the community of Pasali Konu village, Kagarko Local Government Area.
According to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mansur Hassan, who spoke with journalists in Kaduna, noted that the suspect was taken into custody on Saturday.
The PPRO explained that the 20-year-old suspect was arrested on November 11th at about 04:30 pm by a vigilante and surveillance team patrolling the area. He added that the suspect is from Kagarko LGA’s Igwa village.
Furthermore, Hassan revealed that the suspect was also in possession of dangerous weapons, which he uses to attack people, along with a facemask.
He stated, “The suspect, who specializes in stealing goats, confessed that there were two who came to the village to steal goats.”
He noted that the other suspect, who was an accomplice, immediately ran away upon sighting the patrol squad, but the security team swiftly apprehended the other one.
“The other suspect who is at large ran to an unknown destination, but we will trail him and arrest him,” Hassan said.
Meanwhile, the police spokeswoman noted that the suspect would be charged to court after a thorough investigation.
In addition, Hassan emphasized the commitment of the command to eradicating all forms of criminal activity from the state, urging residents to report any suspicious activity or behavior.
