The Bauchi police command on Saturday said its operatives have killed 10 bandits in Yankari forest and rescued 39 abducted victims from the kidnappers’, following a successful combined security operation tagged as Operation Sharan Daji.
This was revealed in a statement released by Ahmed Wakili, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Command.
According to Wakili, a preliminary investigation showed that on Thursday roughly 24 kidnappers broke into the Gaji community.
According to reports, the attackers abducted a group of businessmen returning from the Mararaban Liman Katagum Market and took them away to a location known as the Red Mountain in Yankari Forest.
It was gathered that the kidnappers had demanded N50 million ransom to free their victims before the rescue operation on Friday.
