Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Friday issued stern warning to skit and film makers against the use of it’s uniform and kits as offenders will be brought to book if caught in such an act.
Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, the General Manager of LASTMA, made the announcement as he expressed disapproval of the disrespectful way the LASTMA institution is being protrayed in movies and skit, He laid emphasis on the importance of adhering to Section 79 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015, which deems unauthorized use of such uniforms as a criminal offense.
Mr Oreagba made these remarks after observing an actress fully dressed in LASTMA uniform in a Nollywood film titled “Gbogbo Lowo,” along with various skits making rounds on different social media platforms.

In his words, “Film or skit makers who portray as LASTMA Officer without applying for, and being duly issued a permit letter for such portrayals, should desist with immediate effect or face the full wrath of the Law.”
He believes that the establishment of regulations on the representation of LASTMA in media productions, as well as controlling the possession and usage of LASTMA uniforms, will effectively stop the widespread availability of LASTMA kits and uniforms in society.
Oreagba went on to state, “We implore National Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTA) and other affliated bodies to warn their members as anyone caught using LASTMA uniform without an approved permit would be prosecuted”
