Ok Tuesday, Governors of South-West States gathered in Ibadan to pay a visit to the ailing Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Among the prominent figures present was Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who stood alongside his counterparts from Ogun, Oyo, and Ekiti States, namely Dapo Abiodun, Seyi Makinde, and Biodun Oyebanji.
According to Akeredolu’s Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, the meeting, which was held in the capital of Oyo State, Ibadan, fostered discussions on various matters impacting the region and its people.
However, conspicuous by his absence was the Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke. Notably, he is currently at Kogi State to support Dino Melaye who is their Party’s gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Kogi State election.
Governor Akeredolu, who currently holds the position of Chairman among the South-West governors, expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for their unwavering support. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among the states in the South-West region.
Governor Makinde echoed this sentiment, assuring Akeredolu of the South-West governors’ support and prayers. The meeting comes six weeks Akeredolu returned to the country from Germany after being absent from Ondo for about three months.
