Renowned British singer Adele recently discussed her ongoing struggle with a fungal skin infection in a rather uncomfortable area, attributing it to excessive perspiration while performing.
During her recent show, the 35-year-old songstress, known for her hit track “Easy On Me,” candidly addressed the audience about feeling intensely hot under the bright stage lights. She divulged that her prolonged perspiration in Spanx, which she wears during performances to contour her figure, had resulted in her developing jock itch.
Expressing her surprise, Adele shared that her personal physician had recently diagnosed her with this condition, remarking, “It is a bit crude, but I never knew it existed!”

Elaborating further, the singer explained how the combination of wearing Spanx and enduring copious amounts of perspiration during her shows had created an environment where sweat was trapped against her skin. Consequently, her doctor prescribed a treatment for jock itch, leading her to humorously compare herself to an athlete as she now applies the appropriate ointment.
“Obviously when I do my shows I wear Spanx and keep it all in and make it all fit me.
“And I sweat a lot and it doesn’t go anywhere. So basically I just sit in my own sweat. And my doctor gave me Jock Itch.
”So it looks like I am an athlete basically, so I have to squirt it on myself. I don’t know why the f**k I just told you that!
Transitioning to another topic, the artist also discussed her experience with body acne and her newfound passion for weightlifting, expressing her enthusiasm for the physical activity.
“Talking about body acne, I have started weight lifting again like no-one’s business. And I am absolutely loving it.“
