In a move to implement reforms and enhance the functionality of critical federal agencies, President Bola Tinubu has made the decision to dismiss two Chief Executive Officers. The aim of this organizational adjustment is to strengthen the protection of consumer rights in Nigeria and contribute to the nation’s economic growth through pivotal institutions.
The affected executives are:
1. Mr. Babatunde Irukera — EVC/CEO of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC)
2. Mr. Alexander Ayoola Okoh — Director-General/CEO of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE)
Following their dismissal, the President has instructed the CEOs to facilitate a smooth transition by handing over their responsibilities to the next most senior officers within their respective agencies. This process is intended to pave the way for the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers aligned with the administration’s objectives for effective governance.
The President’s directive ensures the prompt implementation of these changes, reflecting a commitment to proactively address the evolving needs of key sectors and promote the overall well-being of the Nigerian populace.
