Adeniran-Ogunsanya Debunks President Tinubu’s Claims of Attending Government College Lagos
Fola Adeniran-Ogunsanya, a pioneer student of Government College Lagos (GCL) and son of the late Nigerian politician Adeniran Ogunsanya (SAN), has refuted President Bola Tinubu’s assertion of attending the school. Ogunsanya, a member of the inaugural GCL class, declared that during his four years at the institution, he never encountered President Tinubu.
This revelation emerges amidst mounting controversies surrounding President Tinubu’s academic credentials. The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, sought Tinubu’s records from Chicago State University to bolster his case in the presidential tribunal.
In an exclusive interview with Rifnote, Ogunsanya challenged President Tinubu’s credibility, stating that if he indeed attended GCL, he should be able to name his fellow students. He emphasized, “I’m part of the pioneer set, and I can recall names like Solomon Onwukwe, the Shitta Bays, Semiu Ibrahim, among others, who attended Government College Lagos.”
Ogunsanya also highlighted his father’s role in establishing government colleges in Lagos and the historical significance of GCL’s founding in 1974. He pointed out that Government College, Lagos, was established before 1970, contradicting President Tinubu’s claim.
Atiku’s Aide Challenges Keyamo Over Tinubu’s Academic Records
In a twist of events surrounding the controversy over President Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University (CSU) academic records, Daniel Bwala, an aide to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 elections, has taken a bold stance.
Bwala asserts that the key to countering Minister Festus Keyamo’s defense lies in referencing a statement Keyamo made under oath during his past legal battle with the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Bwala warned that if Keyamo continues to defend Tinubu’s CSU records, he will reveal damning evidence from the ‘Keyamo versus House of Assembly’ case, challenging Keyamo to stand by his previous sworn statement. This development adds a new layer of intensity to the ongoing debate.
