Bashir El-Rufai, son of the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, is stirring political waves by calling out the current governor, Uba Sani, for what he perceives as a lack of leadership and responsibility.
He criticized Sani for spending too much time away from the state, preferring the comforts of Abuja over attending to the needs of Kaduna residents.
Furthermore, Bashir accused Governor Sani of surrounding himself with incompetent aides chosen for political reasons rather than their qualifications.
He expressed frustration at the administration’s response to criticism, suggesting that they deflect blame onto inherited debt rather than addressing their own shortcomings.
Governor Sani had previously claimed to have inherited significant financial burdens from the previous administration, making it challenging to meet obligations such as paying workers’ salaries. However, Bashir countered these claims, alleging mismanagement, contract inflation, and currency speculation within the current administration.
In a series of tweets, Bashir wrote: “These guys have realised that they are wholly incompetent and the only way to mask the nonsense is to deflect. From a Governor that is always sleeping in Abuja to a litany of incompetent aides that were only rewarded for foolish political reasons.”
On the debt profile of the state, Bashir wrote: “FYI: He was the Senator from Kaduna who lobbied & approved the loans.
“One would think that from all the FAAC allocations these unserious clowns have changed to dollars, debt would be the least of their problems.
“The current administration in Kaduna is building a banquet hall for 7BN naira and is lamenting about debt left by the previous administration.”
