World Champion Tobi Amusan has set her sights on achieving a remarkable feat of breaking the 11-second mark at the upcoming Golden Spikes Meet in Ostrava and the Lausanne Diamond League.
In the previous year’s World Championships, Amusan set the current world record with a time of 12.12 seconds. She even managed to clock an impressive time of 12.06 seconds in the final, but unfortunately, it was not recognized as a new record due to the presence of a tailwind.
“I’m a big believer in the Bible, nothing is impossible, and 11 seconds? Most definitely,” Amusan said ahead of Tuesday’s Golden Spike meet in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava.

Tobi Amusan is set to compete in the prestigious Golden Spikes Meet in Ostrava, where she will face off against top contenders such as Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, former world champion Nia Ali, and emerging US sensation Tia Jones.
This highly anticipated race will feature some of the best hurdlers in the world, including Alaysha Johnson, who has been in exceptional form this season.

Following her race in Ostrava, Amusan will continue her Diamond League campaign in Lausanne on Friday, June 30. She will once again share the track with formidable opponents like Camacho-Quinn, Ali, Jones, and Alaysha Johnson, who has been one of the standout hurdlers this season.
The competition promises to be intense as Amusan seeks to make her mark in the prestigious event.
Having recently clinched victory at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica three weeks ago, where she recorded an impressive Season’s Best (SB) time of 12.57 seconds, Amusan is determined to build on her success.
Additionally, she will be driven by a desire for redemption against the women who have defeated her in previous encounters this season.
