Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for March 2023, while his manager Mikel Arteta has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for the third time in the last four months.
Saka scored three goals and provided two assists to help Arsenal win all four Premier League games in March. He has been consistent throughout the season, contributing to 22 Premier League goals, the third-highest tally in the competition this season.
During the recent international break, he also scored a stunning long-range goal for England, which helped his country qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Saka beat out Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak, Brighton’s Alexis MacAllister, Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, and Arsenal teammate Leandro Trossard to win the award. He is the second Arsenal player to win the award this season, following Martin Odegaard in November and December 2021.
Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta, on the other hand, won the Premier League Manager of the Month for March 2022. This is the third time in the past four months that he has won the award, and he is now just one award behind Jurgen Klopp’s record of five, which he set in the 2019/20 season.
During March, Arteta’s team was undefeated, winning all four of their games and scoring 14 goals in the process. Despite this success, Arsenal faces a challenging run of fixtures in April, with matches against Leeds, Liverpool, West Ham, and Southampton before ending the month with a trip to face Manchester City and a visit from London rivals Chelsea.
Saka’s performances have made him a strong contender for the Premier League Player of the Season award, while Arteta’s success as a manager has been crucial to Arsenal’s title challenge this season.
The Gunners currently sit eight points clear at the top of the table, and the performances of Saka and Arteta will be essential if they are to maintain their position and win the Premier League title for the first time since the 2003/04 season.
