Jigawa State Governor and APC presidential aspirant, Abubakar Badaru, has bowed to pressure after 10 Northern Governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), called for a power shift to the South.

According to The Punch, Badaru stepped down from the race for the APC presidential ticket before the primary, as urged by President Buhari who in a meeting with the presidential aspirants on Sunday, June 4, 2022, asked them to rally around a candidate before the day of the primary.
