The Federal Executive Council (FEC) in an extra-ordinary meeting presided by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, approved the establishment of 37 new universities.
The meeting is ongoing as of the time of filing this report.
According to the Vice President’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, “Osinbajo is presiding over Extraordinary FEC meeting with items such as approval for (1) The establishment of 37 new private universities (2) National Home-grown Sch. Feeding Policy (3) Engagement of 4 FG agencies to train Npower beneficiaries (4) National Cocoa Plan among others, on the agenda.”
Recall that Nigeria’s FEC usually holds on Wednesday every week.
Osinbajo is standing-in for President Muhammadu Buhari who stayed back in London after the coronation of King Charles III, to keep an appointment with his dentist.
