Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State stepped out from office and joined labor unions and their allies in a peaceful demonstration on Tuesday, February 27th.
Addressing the crowd at Total Garden Junction in Oritamefa, Ibadan, he assured them that better days were ahead despite the current challenges facing the nation.
Amidst cheers from the assembled crowd, Governor Makinde expressed solidarity with the people, acknowledging their struggles and hardships.
He pledged his unwavering commitment to being part of the solution, vowing to work tirelessly to bring about positive change.
In a show of support for workers’ rights, Makinde highlighted his communication with the NLC national president, Comrade Joe Ajero, concerning wage issues affecting workers nationwide. He assured the protesters that their concerns would be relayed to President Bola Tinubu.
“I understand the difficulties you are facing, and I am here to assure you that your voices have been heard,” Governor Makinde declared. “We are working towards a better future for all, and your well-being is our priority.”
