The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has commenced its nationwide protest in Lagos. This protest aims to address the current economic crisis and high cost of living affecting citizens across the country.
Mr. Ajaero, who emphasized the peaceful nature of the protest, called upon the federal government to ensure the safety of all participants, as it is their constitutional right.
He also added that members of the union will march to both national and state assemblies nationwide to submit their demands directly to lawmakers and government officials. These demands primarily focus on alleviating the economic hardships faced by Nigerians.
“The rally goes on but it’s part of their (government) constitutional responsibility to make sure that the rally is peaceful while we are going to try on our own side to make sure it is peaceful. That’s all,” said Mr. Ajaero during a briefing with journalists.
