In an official ceremony held at the State House Administrative block on Monday, Engr. Olusesan Adebiyi took up his new role as the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Abuja where he pledged his unswerving loyalty and dedication to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The appointment of the Kogi-born Ekiti indigene was contained in a statement released by the State House’s Director of Information Abiodun Oladunjoye on Tuesday
Having previously served as the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health, Adebiyi expressed heartfelt gratitude to his predecessor, Tijjani Umar, during the handover proceedings. He commended Umar for his unwavering commitment to the nation and congratulated him on his well-deserved retirement on August 10, 2023.
Adebiyi said, ”I sincerely pledge my commitment to my fatherland. I will put forth my best effort for the success of the administration.
“I pledge my faithfulness, hard work, honesty, and sincerity of purpose in ensuring that every assignment given to me is carried out to the letter,”
Addressing the staff of the State House, Adebiyi called for unity and a renewed spirit of determination to succeed, emphasizing the importance of working as a cohesive team.
In response, Umar, who had proudly served as the Permanent Secretary of the State House from April 5, 2020, to August 10, 2023, expressed his deep honor in having worked under two Presidents, Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu.
Reflecting on the accomplishments during his tenure, Umar expressed his gratification, saying, “”Driving round the State House today gives me great pleasure because I have seen how much we have impacted the community.
”When you look to the left, right and centre, there’s something somewhere that people will continue to use and benefit from that we initiated, completed and delivered, ” he said.
Umar hinted at an upcoming memoir that would document his remarkable journey in public service, offering insights into his experiences throughout his career.
