Superstar Nigerian musician Davido recently revealed how he came close to selling his father’s property to fund his musical ambition.
Davido who made the revelation in an interview with ABtalks, disclosed that his ambition to pursue a career in music led him to consider selling his father’s Rolls Royce.
During the interview, Davido explained that his father was initially unsupportive of his musical aspirations and refused to provide financial assistance. Faced with these challenges, the artist resorted to extreme measures, contemplating the sale of his father’s valuable asset in order to fund his dream.

Davido, known for hits like “Skelewu,” expressed the lengths he was willing to go to realize his passion for music, even when met with opposition from his family. This anecdote sheds light on the determination and sacrifice he exhibited during his early journey in the industry.
While recalling his early days as a musician, Davido said; “So I blew up, remember I said that I told him I wanted to move back, but he disagreed. I ended up dropping out; he found out that I wasn’t in school for like a year.
‘‘I broke into his house in Atlanta, sold all the TVs, and sold his furniture. I almost sold his Rolls Royce because I was like, ‘Yeah, I want to do this music,’ but he didn’t want me to, so I was like, ‘You know what? I’m just about that crazy.’’ He added.
