The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Imo State, Samuel Anyanwu, has vehemently refuted rumors of his withdrawal from the upcoming November 11 election. In response to a circulating video claiming his withdrawal, the campaign council dismissed it as entirely false.
According to the Director of New Media for Sam Jones Governorship Campaign, Dumebi Ifeanyichukwu, the video in question has been heavily edited with manipulated audio to deceive the public.
Ifeanyichukwu urged the public to disregard such misinformation in the lead-up to the crucial governorship election in Imo State on Saturday.
The statement reads, “The SamJones Governorship Campaign Council is compelled to address a malicious video circulating, falsely claiming that our esteemed Candidate, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, has withdrawn from the gubernatorial race.
“We emphatically state that this information is categorically FALSE. After a thorough examination of the video, it became evident that it was heavily edited with manipulated audio to mislead the public.
“We call on the General Public to disregard the Video.”
Anyanwu, a prominent contender in the race, is challenging the incumbent Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Sam Jones Governorship Campaign Council assures the public that Anyanwu remains steadfast in the gubernatorial race, dispelling any doubts about his participation.
