Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has officially scheduled the burial of the late Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, for February 23 and 24. This decision followed a state cabinet meeting that stirred controversy due to the exclusion of certain names from the burial planning committee.
Saharareporters reveal tension at the meeting, particularly concerning the exclusion of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Princess Oladunni Odu, from the committee. Sources indicate that SSG Odu expressed her discontent during a meeting with Governor Aiyedatiwa, leading to a heated argument. Despite intervention from other cabinet members, the meeting did not conclude harmoniously.
In collaboration with the South-West Governors Forum, Governor Aiyedatiwa and the Akeredolu family are working towards a dignified burial. The Forum, represented by Governor Dapo Abiodun and other governors, expressed condolences and outlined plans for a joint committee to oversee the burial arrangements. The committee include Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti and Oyo state deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde.
