In a distressing turn of events, two young children, Amirat Adeniji and Kadijat, have gone missing from their home on Mobil Road, Ajegunle-Apapa, Lagos.
Quest Times reports that the family is deeply worried, suspecting a possible kidnapping.
Amirat’s father, Rasheed Adeniji, shared with newsmen on Monday, that the children were last seen on New Year’s Eve, playing in the passage.
They were reportedly carrying N50 notes, intending to buy biscuits, but a concerned resident advised them to return, and since then, the family has been unable to locate them.
To this effect, Rasheed Adeniji has reached out to fellow Nigerians for assistance, stating, “I’m appealing to Nigerians who may know the children’s whereabouts to please come to our aid. They were (probably) kidnapped.”
Adding to the concern, Lukman, Adeniji’s brother, mentioned in a phone conversation that another boy went missing in the area on Monday, following the disappearance of the two girls.
Lukman emphasized that the incident occurred around 1 pm and that there are now three missing children in the vicinity.
Moreover, the family has sought help from several police stations, with the Divisional Police Officer at Amukoko, Bawa Malik, expressing his commitment to collaborate with other stations on the matter.
“We learnt it happened at Ajegunle but we have not got anything yet,” said Malik.
