In response to recent claims about the double leg amputation of actor John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, his family has clarified the situation.
Contrary to previous reports, the family explained on Mr Ibu’s Instagram page that the second amputation was on the same leg as the initial procedure. This decision was made because the first amputation did not fully address his health issues.
Addressing misconceptions, the family disclosed that the actor is not diabetic, but has been struggling with persistent blood clotting in his leg, along with other health complications posing a serious threat to his life hence, this necessitated the need for the second amputation.
Quest Times further learned that contrary to rumours, the family clarified that Mr Ibu has not been flown abroad for advanced treatment, as doctors have deemed him “Not fit to fly.”
The family assured everyone that he is on the road to recovery and urged friends, colleagues, fans, and the Nigerian public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers.
They also stressed the importance of avoiding the spread of unverified information about the actor’s health.
