Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis is currently facing an investigation into alleged false accounting related to Victor Osimhen’s transfer.
The scrutiny surrounds the players Napoli included in the deal with Lille, with accusations suggesting the club artificially inflated their values to secure Osimhen’s signing.
According to reports from La Repubblica, the Rome prosecutor has concluded the investigation concerning Osimhen’s transfer, leading to an ongoing inquiry into false accounting involving the club and De Laurentiis.
The possibility of an indictment looms as the investigation progresses, implicating not only De Laurentiis but also other members of the club’s board.
Osimhen joined Napoli in the summer of 2020, with the reported transfer fee being €71.2 million. As part of the deal, Napoli offered four players to Lille, valuing them at €21 million.
The players included Luigi Liguori, Claudio Manzi, and Ciro Palmieri, alongside goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis. However, all four players seem to have disappeared from the mainstream footballing scene.
