The immediate past Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Subomi Balogun in Ogun State.
Prof Osinbajo was accompanied on the visit by Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State. There, Osinbajo signed the condolence register.
The former number two citizen on his official Instagram page.
“Visited Olori Balogun, Bolaji, Jide, Ladi, Gboyega earlier this afternoon and the family of Late Otunba Subomi Balogun to condole with them on his loss.
“We bless the name of the lord for the life of Service to school, profession, community, nation and so many of our father, Olori Omo Oba Subomi Balogun.
“May his memory remain blessed forever. Amen,” he said.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had described the late Subomi Balogun, as “noble in word and deed, an outstanding legal mind, and a doyen of the Nigerian capital market and investment banking.”
Osinbajo stated this on Saturday in a personal tribute to the late FCMB founder, who died Friday morning in London at the age of 89, following a brief illness.
Balogun was the ‘olori ebi’ and head of all the princes at the Arojojoye Ruling House in Ijebu Ode.
He held several revered traditional and cultural titles in recognition and appreciation of the number of lives touched. They include Otunba Tunwase, the Olori Omo-Oba of Ijebu, Asiwaju of Ijebu Christians, Baba Oba of Ijebu-Ife, Asalu-Oba of Ijebu Mushin, and many others.
The Federal Government also decorated him with the honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
