The police have launched an investigation into the viral video that shows an unidentified police officer assaulting a man in Rivers.
The video has gone viral on social media platforms.
The nature of the offence is unknown, but according to The Nation, it occurred on Port Harcourt East West Road, near Emouha Junction.
The police officer is seen in the now-viral video assaulting the man with a stick while the man tries to avoid being assaulted.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, responded by condemning the officers’ actions.
He stated that efforts are still being made to apprehend the officers involved in the heinous act.
Adejobi said: “Quite unfortunate. I have asked the Rivers State Command to fish them out.
“This is unpolice, unethical, and condemned. Whatever the man must have done, he doesn’t deserve this beating. Beating him like a baby?? A grown-up man? We will surely get the men.”
