Security Operatives in Benue State have apprehended four suspects linked with the murder of a former President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Late Justice Margaret Igbetar, her decomposing body was found on the 24th of August 2023.
According to Bartholomew Onyeka, The Commissioner of Police in Benue, who revealed this when briefing newsmen in Makurdi, he said the principal suspect and nephew to the late Justice, Mr Audu Joseph, was the one who planned the murder.
The Commissioner of Police further explained that Joseph enlisted the services of one Dzungwenen Ukor, who worked alongside with the driver and gateman of Late Justice Margaret to gain access to her and stabbed her multiple times in the chest.
The principal suspect while speaking to reporters, said he now regrets his action which originated from the refusal of his late aunt (Margaret) to release land title documents belonging to his late father to him after several failed attempts by the family to intervene in the matter.
