President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ola Olukoyede, a lawyer and pastor, as the new chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The appointment of Olukoyede is subject to Senate confirmation, as he takes over from Abdulrasheed Bawa, who was removed from office for allegedly abusing his office.
QUEST TIMES brings you five things you probably did not know about the new EFCC chairman:
1. Ola Olukoyede is a lawyer with over twenty-two (22) years of experience as a regulatory compliance consultant and specialist in fraud management and corporate intelligence.
2. He is a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

4. Hailing from Ekiti State, he is the first southerner to head EFCC since the creation of the anti-corruption agency.
5. Olukoyede has extensive experience in the operations of the EFCC, having served at different times as Chief of Staff to the acting chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu (2016-2018), and Secretary to the Commission (2018-2021).
