The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Paul Omotoso, has passed away.
Omotoso, a prominent figure in the political landscape of Ekiti State, succumbed to a brief illness in the early hours of Wednesday, as confirmed by family sources.
Hailing from Imesi-Ekiti, Omotoso, renowned both as a politician and lawyer, had been actively engaged in various political activities leading up to his demise.
However, his health took a sudden turn for the worse on Tuesday, prompting his admission to a government hospital in the state capital. Despite efforts to save him, he eventually succumbed to his ailment.
This loss comes as a shock to many, especially considering Omotoso’s recent ordeal. In July 2023, he was abducted by unknown gunmen and held captive for five days before regaining his freedom.
Omotoso’s passing adds to a series of recent losses within the political sphere in the region. Just last month, Fatai Adams, the Chairman of the Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also passed away.
