Dr. Sen. Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Iyiola last night stepped down from office after the National Chairman of the party, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu who resigned on Sunday evening.
But he nonetheless reported at the APC Secretariat in Abuja this morning but was walked out by other members of the National Working Committee of the party in what was a dramatic event, according to PBA news.
Omisore’s exit paved the way for the Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter (Plateau State), to immediately assume office as Acting National Secretary.
A PBA Correspondent who monitored the events as the NWC prepared to begin the crucial meeting reports that Omisore actually came to the office but was asked to live immediately by the NWC members. The PBA reporter, however, could not take pictures.
Omisore’s resignation happened just as the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC prepared to commence its critical meeting scheduled for 12 noon on Monday.
We had reported that Omisore would also resign his position as secretary following the alleged demand by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
