The Supreme Court has upheld the election victory of Governor Fintiri in Adamawa State, dismissing an appeal by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and their candidate, Aisha Dahiru (Binani).
Quest Times reports that the court, led by John Okoro, stated that the appeal lacked merit.
Furthermore, the court criticized the conduct of the former Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Ari, who had previously declared Binani as the winner.
The court labeled Ari’s actions as irresponsible and criminal, with Okoro emphasizing that the authority to announce election results lies exclusively with the Returning Officer, not the Resident Electoral Commissioner.
