In a dramatic turn of events, Napoli’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, finds himself at odds with the club’s social media team, demanding an apology in the wake of a troubling dispute.
The controversy stems from a series of TikTok posts shared by the team, some of which not only crossed the line of offense but also delved into racially sensitive territory.
Osimhen’s strong reaction, coupled with his representative Roberto Calenda’s stance, has even raised the possibility of legal action against Napoli.
To underscore the seriousness of his grievances, Osimhen has taken the extraordinary step of scrubbing his Instagram account of any trace of himself in Napoli’s iconic blue shirt.
The fallout from this clash has ignited a storm of reactions, setting the stage for a story that delves into the intersection of sports, social media, and the responsibilities of professional football clubs.

@elnathan_john I will say on record that Victor Osimhen has far more rights in Napoli than he does in Nigeria. Racial abuse is horrible. But Victor Osimhen will receive the same if not worse abuse if he decides to run for office in a state in Nigeria where both his parents are not indigenous.
@PoojaMedia In all our opinions, we should leave the fans & people of Naples out of it cos Osimhen is their idol & they are giving the club the same pressure as Nigerians. Don’t set him up against the fans but focus on the subject matter & the club.
@Cerebrone Some saying Osimhen is “overreacting” & “it’s not that deep”. Good to see he takes himself seriously & sees himself for the big player he is. A Top 5 striker. Big players have big egos for a reason. You draw the line. CR, Ney, Messi, Mbappé, etc aren’t taking that crap either.
I have never seen a player drag their club to their first league title in three decades, only for that club to turn around and make fun of him on social media for his hair and missed penalty.
As much as I wanted to see Victor Osimhen to stay at Napoli…this crosses the line.
