Popular Nigerian musician Azeez Fashola, widely recognized as Naira Marley, has found himself on Splash 105.5 FM’s “Not To Be Broadcast” list, a radio station in Oyo State.
This decision comes in the midst of the controversy surrounding the tragic passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, also known as Mohbad.
The ban, announced by Aderonke Adesola, a presenter at Splash FM, via a social media post on Monday, reflects the station’s commitment to discretion and sensitivity during the ongoing criminal investigation into Mohbad’s death.
The post stated: “In light of the sensitive nature surrounding Mohbad’s death and the legal proceedings initiated by the police, I strongly urge everyone to exercise caution.

“As a result, Naira Marley’s songs have been designated as NTBB (Not to be Broadcast) on our stations until further notice.”
“This takes effect immediately.”
While this decision may spark controversy, it underscores Splash FM’s dedication to responsible broadcasting and creating a safe and respectful environment for its audience.
It is worth noting that Naira Marley, known for his provocative lyrics and style, has garnered a substantial following in recent years. Nevertheless, this ban serves as a reminder that even prominent figures in the entertainment industry are subject to scrutiny anda ccountability.
