In the wake of Nigerian rapper Mohbad’s tragic passing, his father, Joseph Aloba, has made a resolute stand, insisting that his son’s body will not be released for burial until justice is served.
This firm stance comes in response to growing calls from close associates, including Bella Shmurda and Tonto Dikeh, to have Mohbad’s body released for a befitting burial.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Mr. Aloba addressed the growing clamour for Mohbad’s burial, emphasizing the need for certain conditions to be met before the body is laid to rest.
The video, posted on the TikTok account @Mohbad_dad, serves as a clear message to those seeking to expedite the burial process.
Mr. Aloba vehemently stated, “I’m hearing that some people want to go and take Mohbad’s body. Please, when the boy was alive, he was my son. After his death, he is still my son. Please, nobody should go there to take his body. I’m begging everyone.”
Quest Times further reports that he underscored the importance of conducting a DNA test on Mohbad’s 7-month-old son, Liam.
His words resonated with a poignant appeal, “If they want to do anything, I will be the one to authorize it. Nobody should go and carry Mohbad’s body. Please, Nigerians, help me shout at them, nobody should go there.
“We need justice for Mohbad, and some are saying they want to go and bury him. After burial, what’s now remaining? Let justice and the rest of the things we are supposed to do take place first. The DNA is necessary. That’s it.”
