Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is on a trip to China to finalize agreements on the Blue and Red Line rail projects.
The visit, as gathered by Quest Times, aims to fulfill the governor’s commitment to providing an improved transportation system for the people.
In a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, it was revealed that Sanwo-Olu would engage in trade and investment talks at the China Civil Engineering Construction Company headquarters.
“He will inspect the headquarters of the Chinese construction giants and some ongoing projects undertaken around Beijing.
“The governor is scheduled to inspect the Signaling System (CBTC etc.) and Metro projects, being undertaken by CCECC around Beijing,” the statement read in part.
Later in the week, the governor will head to Dalian to visit the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation headquarters and CRRC Lvshun base.
Key meetings with top officials, including the Head of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation, are scheduled to discuss technical aspects of the Red and Blue Line projects.
Moreover, Sanwo-Olu had announced last week that the unveiling of the Lagos Red Line rail is set for February.
He informed President Bola Tinubu officially about the planned event, expressing optimism for the progress of the transportation initiatives in the state.
